Get to know the editorial board

How long have you been on the board?

November 2022.

How did you first get involved with The Bone & Joint Journal?

Reading it in elementary school and getting to be a more and more regular reviewer during the last decade or so.

What is the best thing about being on the board?

The privilege of interacting with extremely efficient people who have the ability to meet deadlines and get tasks done. Also the ability to shape responsibly the knowledge base of our specialty and establish directions for the future through robust scientific principles.

What one piece of advice would you give to others who might like to get more involved with The Bone & Joint Journal?

Do not just get involved, be properly committed.

What song is top of your operating room playlist?

Only the patient’s heartbeat, I prefer to hear that in predictable regular intervals without ever stopping. I find it disrespectful to play random or self-preferred music while somebody is anaesthetised and having a potentially life-changing surgery. People tend not to do it even in relatively simple, low-risk environments compared to the operating room like in an airplane cockpit.
