Get to know the editorial board

How long have you been on the board?

I joined the BJJ board at the end of 2019.

How did you first get involved with The Bone & Joint Journal?

I first got involved with the journal in 2010 when I published my first paper and completed a reviewers course after which I started reviewing for the journal.

What is the best thing about being on the board?

It’s massively helpful as a researcher to hear the opinions of very experienced orthopaedic colleagues and from some of the top orthopaedic researchers in the country. It provides an insight into what different people look for in a paper and different points of view. It’s an honour to help shape the journal content and to see how it the journal itself is evolving as how we consume research changes.

What one piece of advice would you give to others who might like to get more involved with The Bone & Joint Journal?

Though it isn’t paid for, reviewing is so important! It makes you a better researcher, but more importantly it makes you a more critical consumer of the literature and a more savvy clinician.

What song is top of your operating room playlist?

This is a tough one. There are so many great tunes! But mainly 90’s grunge and rock and 80s pop.
