Get to know the editorial board

How long have you been on the board?

About one year.

How did you first get involved with The Bone & Joint Journal?

I co-authored a paper on the five-year results of the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing and submitted it and I was delighted when it was then subsequently published.

What is the best thing about being on the board?

I have developed a greater appreciation and respect for the authors, the reviewers and the staff of the BJJ as to how much time and effort they give to the betterment of the scientific progress of orthopaedics and thus indirectly to patients.

What one piece of advice would you give to others who might like to get more involved with The Bone & Joint Journal?

Attend the reviewers course run by the BJJ and review as many papers as you can possibly find time to do so. I think it really forces you to critically analyse your sub-specialty and keep abreast of developments and controversies.
